Implanted Port
An implanted port is a container connected to a catheter (a small plastic flexible tube) that is surgically placed just below the skin. The catheter is inserted into a large vein or artery directly into the bloodstream. A port will be an advantage during treatment. Fluids, drugs, or blood products can be infused or blood drawn through a needle that is stuck into the disk.
