October 2, 2023 — Digital radiography company Swissray has announced a strategic partnership with Koning Corporation, provider of advanced breast imaging solutions, whereby Swissray becomes the authorized distributor of the Koning Vera Breast CT for the Florida and Arizona regions. The technology eliminates the need for breast compression and produces 3D images with a 7 second per breast exam time, according to a statement on the collaboration, providing clinicians with the tools they need to detect and diagnose breast abnormalities effectively.

Referring to the collaboration as a significant milestone, the announcement reported Swissray and Koning aim to support healthcare providers and patients in need of breast imaging, offering healthcare facilities the opportunity to provide a more comfortable and accurate diagnostic experience for their patients.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering the latest advancements in medical imaging while prioritizing patient care and comfort,” said Ed Pol, CEO of Swissray U.S. He added, “The Koning Vera Breast CT is a game-changer, and we are excited to provide healthcare professionals with access to this cutting-edge technology." For its part, Swissray has been developing digital radiography solutions for over three decades, providing healthcare facilities with advanced digital radiography solutions, improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care.

“Because of Swissray’s long-standing involvement in the radiology industry, we believe they will competently introduce the Koning technology to their large user base and we look forward to a fruitful partnership,” said David Georges, President of Koning U.S., noting the company is focused on patient comfort and diagnostic excellence.

According to the statement, the breakthrough technology allows for the elimination of breast compression during exams and addresses a significant barrier to mammography, as many women avoid screenings due to the discomfort and embarrassment associated with compression. The company reported that the Koning Vera Breast CT boasts exceptional spatial resolution, producing true 3D images of breast tissue. It further added that with a rapid exam time of just 7 seconds per breast, patients will experience faster and more efficient breast imaging procedures. By allowing clinicians to visualize and evaluate breast tissue with unmatched precision, the company noted that the breakthrough technology facilitates early tumor detection and improved patient outcomes.
